• 1968

    12.01.1968 Josef Angst founds the surveying office at Friedrichstrasse 2 (Karlsplatz) in Vienna’s 1st District with two employees.

    First contract: Easement plan on Sterngasse, Vienna’s 23rd District, awarded by the Office of the Vienna Provincial Government.

  • 1972

    Surveying of the Trans-Austria Gas Pipeline 1 with a length of around 380 km.

  • 1978

    Josef Angst acquires a building at Mayergasse 11, in Vienna’s 2nd District, converting around 500 m² to office space.

  • 1979

    Completion of and move to the new offices in Vienna’s 2nd District.

  • 1982

    Start of work to create the digital map of Vienna (Mehrzweckkarte MZK) with a scale of 1:200 by surveying the entire road network.

  • 1984

    Introduction of computer-aided design (CAD) as one of the first surveying offices in Austria.

    Holding of training courses on the use of IT and CAD for the Austrian Employment Service (AMS) until 1990.

  • 1986

    First ever creation of digital floor plans, setting out work and altitude mapping (facility management) for Vienna International Airport.

    20th anniversary of Vermessung Angst.

    Creation of digital floor plans for part of Munich’s new airport together with the subsidiary FACOS Consult.

  • 1990

    First subsidiaries founded in CEE countries (CZ, SK & H), Geodis Group created.

    Michaela Ragossnig-Angst, daughter, joins the team, bringing her technical and commercial expertise.

  • 1992

    Complete conversion of the entire building in Vienna’s 2nd District to office space with approx. 1,200 m² of usable floor space.

  • 1995

    Appointment of Josef Angst as university lecturer in the field of engineering geodetic information systems in facility management.

  • 1996

    Establishment of Vermessung Angst ZT Ltd. with head offices in Vienna and a local office in Schwechat.

  • 1997

    First surveying office in Austria to be certified according to ISO 9001.

  • 1998

    30th anniversary of Vermessung Angst with open day event at Vienna head office

  • 1999

    Robert Angst, son, founds the property development company Immobilien 4 You.

  • 2001

    First use of a laser scanner during the surveying of the Otto Wagner Church in Steinhof (Vienna).

    Following the death of his mother, Robert Angst assumes control of the real estate and property management company Georeal GmbH, a sister company of Vermessung Angst.


  • 2002

    Michaela Ragossnig-Angst becomes a member of the management team.

  • 2004

    The sole proprietorship DI Josef Angst is incorporated into Vermessung Angst ZT GmbH.

    Robert Angst architect’s firm is founded, meaning that a variety of disciplines in a project can be covered.

  • 2005

    Together with the partner company GEODIS Brno, a large part of Romania is mapped true to scale using orthophotos.

  • 2006

    The project fundamentals are set (until 2008) for the Trans Adriatic Pipeline in Albania, Greece and Italy.

    ASFiNAG LOS (performance-based management of motorway maintenance) and noise protection (UV) project together with a consortium of eight companies.

  • 2007

    Construction site supervision of the A5 North motorway extension Eibesbrunn-Schrick (Lower Austria). Creating the junction to the north of Vienna where the S1 Eibesbrunn-Korneuburg and S1 Ost Eibesbrunn-Süßenbrunn join.

  • 2008

    40th anniversary of Vermessung Angst.

  • 2009

    The title of ‘Baurat h.c.’ is awarded to Josef Angst.

  • 2010

    Expansion in Austria with the acquisition of Vermessung Kärnten Moritz ZT GmbH in Villach.

  • 2013

    Acquisition of Vermessungsbüro Gressl in Völkermarkt. Restructuring of the company under the umbrella of the Angst Group.
